Downtown St. Petersburg is packed into a grid small enough to cross in ten minutes and dense enough that you never quite do. The museums, the waterfront parks, more than 600 murals, the Pier, the stadium, and the whole run of Central Avenue all sit within a couple of miles of each other, and almost none of it comes with easy parking.
That is the case for a golf cart, and it is why this blog exists. Our six passenger cart is street legal on downtown's roads, which are posted well inside Florida's 35 mph limit for low-speed vehicles, and it turns the tedious part of a downtown day, where you move a full size car five times and pay to park it five times, into the part you actually remember.
This page is the starting point. The four stops below are the ones nearly everyone asks about first. The guides linked here go deeper on the specific days and neighborhoods that reward a little planning.
Where to start, depending on the day
The murals, block by block. Our St Pete mural tour routes the Central Arts District wall by wall, with the artist behind each one and an honest note on how far west is worth going.
First Friday of any month. The First Friday guide covers the single block the party actually occupies, where to eat before it fills, and the cheap garage that closes at 5pm and strands people.
Fall Sundays. The football bars guide is the current list of where downtown watches the game, including two well known bars that closed in 2026 and still turn up in older lists.
Rays home games. The Rays game day guide handles Tropicana Field parking, the clear bag policy, and how to build a whole day around first pitch.
After dark. The insider nightlife route is the order we would actually hit the bars in, and why.
Downtown also runs on a calendar worth knowing: baseball season through the summer, First Friday on the first Friday of every month, and the SHINE Mural Festival from November 8 to 17, 2026, when new walls go up across the city. If your dates line up with any of those, the matching guide above is where to look.
If you already know you want the cart, the rental page has availability, the $99 rate for eight hours or per consecutive day, and free delivery and pickup anywhere downtown.
Here are the four stops to build any downtown day around.
1. Visit the Salvador Dalí Museum
No trip to St. Pete is complete without the Dalí Museum, home to the largest collection of Dalí’s works outside Europe. Park your golf cart nearby and step inside for surreal art and stunning waterfront views.
2. Stroll the St. Pete Pier
The St. Pete Pier offers dining, shopping, playgrounds, and some of the best skyline views. A golf cart makes it easy to hop over for a sunset or grab a bite without worrying about finding a spot.
3. Catch a Rowdies Game at Al Lang Stadium
If you’re in town on match day, Rowdies soccer games are a blast. Skip the traffic, load up your crew in a 6-seat golf cart, and head straight to the stadium with no parking stress.
4. Explore St. Pete’s Murals
Downtown is an open-air gallery, with over 600 murals across building walls. Cruise from block to block in your cart, stop for photos, and soak in the city’s creative vibe.
