Memorial Day Weekend in Downtown St. Pete: The Golf Cart Guide

Memorial Day weekend in St. Pete has a very specific energy.

The waterfront fills up. Everyone suddenly remembers they love being outside. Parking becomes a psychological experiment. And somehow, every group chat starts with, “So what’s the plan?”

Good news, downtown has enough going on that you do not need to overthink it. You just need a few good stops, decent timing, and ideally, a way to move around without spending half the weekend circling for parking like a lost pelican.

Here’s what’s worth your time.

Saturday Morning Market at Al Lang Stadium

9 AM to 2 PM

The Saturday Morning Market is already one of the best weekend staples in downtown St. Pete, but holiday weekends bring out the full cast. Local vendors, fresh produce, handmade goods, coffee, breakfast, random snacks you did not know you needed, and enough people walking around with tote bags to make you wonder if you should own more tote bags.

The best part is the location. You are right across from the waterfront, which means once you are done pretending you only came for vegetables, you can roll straight toward the bay.

Tampa Bay BBQ Festival at Vinoy Park

Saturday and Sunday, May 23 and May 24 @Vinoy Park

Award winning BBQ on the waterfront is not exactly a hard sell.

Vinoy Park is already one of the best places to be outside in St. Pete. Add brisket, ribs, smoke, sauce, and a crowd that smells faintly like sunscreen and poor portion control, and you have yourself a Memorial Day weekend moment.

Check the Tampa Bay BBQ Festival site for current hours and tickets before heading over.

Also, show up hungry. This is not the time to be brave in skinny jeans.

Rowdies vs. Phoenix Rising FC at Al Lang Stadium

Military Appreciation Night

If you have not been to a Rowdies game yet, this is a good one to circle.

Al Lang Stadium is one of those places that reminds you how good downtown St. Pete really has it. Bay views, real crowd energy, and a stadium that somehow feels relaxed and alive at the same time.

Military Appreciation Night should bring out a great crowd, and the whole thing fits perfectly into a downtown loop.

Morning Market. BBQ at Vinoy. Rowdies at Al Lang.

That is a full Saturday without needing to reinvent your personality or drive across the county.

By golf cart, it all connects in minutes. By car, it connects through optimism, patience, and maybe a parking garage spiral

Mutts & Martinis

If your ideal Memorial Day weekend includes cocktails and dogs living their best lives, Mutts & Martinis is probably your speed.

This is one of those very St. Pete events where somehow everyone ends up dressed better than expected, there is a DJ somewhere nearby, and at least three golden retrievers are getting more attention than the humans.

Expect drinks, good people watching, and a crowd that feels very downtown St. Pete in the best way possible.

The nice part is that it fits naturally into the rest of the weekend loop. All within a few minutes of each other if you are moving around by golf cart.

The Weekend Move

The market, the waterfront, the BBQ, the stadium, the run, they all make sense together.

The only annoying part is getting between them when downtown is packed.

That is where the golf cart earns its keep.

You are not fighting for parking. You are not waiting on rides. You are not turning a five-minute hop into a full municipal crisis.

You are just moving through the weekend the way downtown St. Pete is meant to be experienced.

Easy. Open air. A little chaotic. Very worth it.
