Spring Break in Downtown St. Pete: The Golf Cart Guide
Spring Break in Downtown St. Pete: The Golf Cart Guide
Spring break in St. Pete hits a little differently.
Most people think beach first, and yeah, you’ll definitely end up there, but what makes this area special is everything happening around it.
Downtown St. Petersburg has this perfect mix of waterfront views, walkable streets, great food, and just enough chaos during March to keep things fun without feeling like total spring break madness.
The best part is that everything is close. Like, actually close.
That’s where people either figure it out… or spend half their trip waiting on Ubers.
If you’re staying downtown, the move is simple. Treat the whole area like one connected experience. Cruise from spot to spot, stop when something looks interesting, and keep the day flowing instead of planning every step.
This guide is exactly how I’d do it. Local spots, good energy, and a way to experience downtown St. Pete the way it’s meant to be experienced.
Spring Events & Things Happening
Sandbagger x Gulf to Bay Grass Volleyball – Eckerd College
If you’re in town this weekend, this is one of the best local vibes you’ll find.
Grass courts, good energy, mix of competitive and social play. Even if you’re not playing, it’s worth stopping by with a drink and hanging out for a bit.
Perfect mid-day stop before heading back downtown
🏀 March Madness Watch Spots
Spring Break + March Madness = elite combo.
Ferg’s Sports Bar
Massive outdoor space
TVs everywhere
High energy, packed crowd
This is your “go big” watch party spot.
The Irons Club
Super clean setup
Great screens and seating
More relaxed, elevated vibe
If you want to actually watch the game without screaming over 200 people, this is your move.
Athletic (Pickleball + Bar)
Grab a drink
Play pickleball
Hang with friends
It’s one of those “we’ll stay for one hour” and suddenly it’s been four.
Tony D’s Sub Shop (Downtown)
Legit sandwiches
Quick stop between plans
Easy to grab and go before heading to the beach or waterfront
Perfect fuel before or after a full day out.
What makes all of this even better is how close everything is. Downtown St. Pete isn’t spread out like most beach towns. You can bounce from a volleyball tournament, to a game watch, to sunset on the water, all using the golf cart
Instead of coordinating Ubers all weekend, you can load up your crew, cruise between spots, and actually enjoy the in-between moments.
